 My Story — The Journey

 My Story — The Journey

Behind The Resilient Soul-Arthritis Well Being Hub

My name is Sanria, and I live in the UAE. I am an arthritis hero, a community advocate, and the heart behind The Resilient Soul–Arthritis Well Being Hub. But before all of this, I was simply a young woman trying to understand why her body was changing.

My journey with arthritis began 23 years ago, long before I had the words, knowledge, or courage to explain what I was going through. What started as strange discomfort slowly grew into something that reshaped every part of my life. I didn’t know the pain would be unpredictable… that the fatigue would feel invisible… or that tasks that once felt effortless would suddenly require strength I didn’t know I had.

What I also didn’t know was that this journey would awaken something powerful within me — a strength to fight, a strength to rise, and eventually, a strength to help others rise with me.

The Life I Walked Away From

Before arthritis changed my path, I built a career I was deeply proud of. I thrived as a Senior HR Professional, supporting people, guiding teams, and creating empowerment in workplaces. HR wasn’t just my job — it was where I felt purpose, connection, and impact.

But as my condition got harder to manage, I was faced with one of the most defining decisions of my life: stepping away from the career I loved.

Many people saw it as a resignation. But for me, it was an act of courage.

Walking away wasn’t the end — it was the beginning of a new chapter I never expected. A chapter that taught me resilience, empathy, self-discovery, and the importance of listening to my body even when the world didn’t understand.

RA Positive — A Voice I Thought I Had Lost

In the middle of this transition, I created a website called RA Positive — a small corner of the internet where I spoke from my heart. It became a home for my thoughts, my emotions, and everything I couldn’t say out loud.

Then one day, it was hacked. Everything disappeared.

The loss felt heavier than I expected — almost like losing a part of my voice. For years afterward, I carried a quiet restlessness, a feeling that something important had been left incomplete.

But deep inside, I knew my voice hadn’t vanished. It was simply waiting for the right time to return.

A Birthday Gift That Changed Everything

This year, I decided it was time.

I gave myself a birthday gift — the gift of courage. The courage to rebuild. The courage to start again. The courage to reclaim the voice I thought I had lost.

That moment of courage became The Resilient Soul — a space born from everything I’ve lived, learned, and carried in my heart.

The Resilient Soul — Where My Purpose Found Its Name

Over the years, I found myself drawn more and more into advocacy. For more than 15 years, I have volunteered with the Middle East Arthritis Foundation — supporting patients, organising events, guiding families, and simply showing up for people who needed someone who understood.

I became an advocate not out of obligation, but out of connection. Every story shared with me, every patient I met, every hand I held reminded me of something important:

We are stronger together than we ever are alone.

Arthritis tried to silence my voice — but it made it stronger.

Arthritis tried to break my spirit — but it made me stand taller.

Arthritis tried to shrink my dreams — but it taught me to dream differently, boldly, and with deeper purpose.

Why My Story Became a Space for Others

Through all these years, I realised something was missing for so many of us — a gentle, safe, emotional space that acknowledged what arthritis feels like beyond the medical terms.

Not just facts. Not just symptoms. But real experiences. Real emotions. Real life.

That is what The Resilient Soul is built on — the belief that our stories matter, our feelings deserve a place, and our journeys can inspire strength in others.

What I Carry Forward

I may have stepped away from a career, but I found a purpose far deeper — a purpose rooted in connection, compassion, and community.

My story is not just about arthritis. It’s about rediscovery. It’s about resilience. It’s about rebuilding a life with meaning and warmth, even when the path changes.

Arthritis may be a part of my story —but it is not the end of it.

This arthritis journey reshaped how I live—teaching me patience, balance, and the strength of self-care. And now, through The Resilient Soul-Arthritis Well-Being Hub, I hope my journey becomes a light for others who are finding their own strength, in their own time, in their own way.

This is my story. And it is only the beginning.

Together we heal. Together, we rise. Together, we are resilient.

With warmth,

Sanria
