Before You Read… A Little Note From Me

As you go through my reflections, I invite you to read them slowly…

You may notice moments that feel familiar to your own journey — the strength, the struggle, the

adjustments, and the courage that often go unspoken.

Though each of our paths is unique, the emotions behind them often echo one another.

Through reading, listening, and sharing, we begin to see how connected we truly are.

Let whatever resonates speak to you.

This space exists so we can understand, relate, and support each other — gently and honestly.

A JOURNEY OF STRENGTH, ADAPTATION & EVERYDAY COURAGE

My Reflection on Living With RA

When I look back, it feels like life split into two chapters.

There was the “old me” — super-fit, busy, and constantly moving.

Then came the “new me,” learning to navigate rheumatoid arthritis with patience and resilience.

I never chose to be a fighter; RA simply demanded it.

Pain was constant, but I refused to let it define me.

So I focused on what I could control — eating well, keeping a positive mindset, moving gently,

resting intentionally, and staying consistent with treatment.

These routines became my stability in an unpredictable time.

The transition into RA wasn’t easy.

Losing physical freedom felt shocking and disorienting.

Yet, strangely, gratitude began to grow.

RA showed me parts of myself I never knew existed — endurance, adaptability, and a deeper kind of

strength.

Experiencing everything from severe flare days to periods of remission taught me to appreciate the

smallest victories. And slowly, hope returned.

THE FIGHTER RA CREATES WITHIN US

Living with RA for over 20 years reshaped how I view strength.

It’s not loud or dramatic. It’s quiet, steady, and deeply rooted.

I learned to choose my battles wisely.

Some days allowed gentle progress; others required rest and acceptance.

RA became a background presence — manageable, but always reminding me to listen to my body.

Through daily adjustments, I developed a better understanding of pacing, energy, and balance.

These weren’t just coping strategies — they became life skills.

THE LITTLE ROAD-TRIP WISDOM THAT GUIDES ME

At some point, I started thinking of my body like a car I truly cherish.

When stiffness, swelling, or fatigue appear, that’s my signal to slow down.

To pull over.

To “service” myself with rest, warmth, or silence.

A car can’t run endlessly without maintenance.

Neither can I.

Taking a break isn’t surrender — it’s preparation.

These pauses help me return stronger and more grounded.

This mindset shift changed the way I move through life.

RA CHANGED MY LIFE — BUT DID NOT DIM IT

My life doesn’t look like the one I once imagined.

But it is still meaningful, still full, and still beautifully mine.

I’ve learned to adapt, rebuild, and find joy in small moments.

Laughter returned too — especially in the clumsy, forgetful, unpredictable moments that have

become part of my everyday life.

These light-hearted moments with my family bring warmth to even the challenging days.

A REMINDER FOR YOU — YOU’RE NOT ALONE

As I share my reflections, I know your path is different.

But I also know this:

You are stronger than you think.

RA reshapes us into people who endure, grow, and find new ways to thrive.

We learn patience, resilience, and emotional depth that many never have to develop.

One of the unexpected gifts RA gave me was the strength I now use in my professional life.

The same habits — pausing, adapting, resetting, choosing battles wisely — have guided me through

business challenges and the pressures that have come with them.

RA didn’t stop my life.

It strengthened the foundation on which I rebuild it.

A GENTLE INVITATION FROM ME TO YOU

Let’s embrace ourselves with kindness.

Let’s honour our limits without guilt.

Let’s celebrate the joy, connection, and meaning that still exist — even on the harder days.

We walk this path together —

brave, resilient, and moving forward one mindful step at a time.

Together we heal. Together we rise. Together, we are resilient. With warmth,

Sanria
